You smile – TB

19 Apr

So many of my smiles begin with you.
You smile,
And, after a while,
Others follow suit.
And smile I do too.
So many of my smiles begin with you,
You.

Heart-felt memories – TB

15 Apr

Words too explicit
Cast shadows over faint glows.
I describe a place,
A motion,
I mention a person,
I relive a moment.
That smell, those colours,
That inglorious sound ringing out.
It’s transcribed into words,
Uttered when I converse, smirks
Reflected in the darks of my eyes.
And the moment is diluted
When it could have been locked away in my heart.

Misery in a puddle – TB

13 Apr

The scratching of my biro,
Frantically trying to get it to work,
Mingled with the sound of raindrops,
Dribbling through the stillness of the day,
Made a storm, waited for another to appear.
The sky rumbled and I studied my misery in a puddle.
I could have written.  I didn’t.   I was scared to think.
I had all of the day to think.
I sat through the downpour.
I could have written.
I didn’t.
I was scared what would come out.

Through the opaque – TB

11 Apr

The girl of love,
Tapped on the glass,
Waved through the opaque,
And said words I only wished she had.

Portals – TB

10 Apr

Every door is a portal,
Leading through time as well as space.
Every porch is like purgatory,
A stone’s throw from what’s best and what’s  worst.
Every front garden a small space, a big mirror
To get lost in.
