Sky – TB

22 Mar

I lifted my face to the drowning sky.
It was sinking quickly.
It had lost its fire.
And for years before I had sat and wished
To the stars above
That have now vanished.
I’d wished for sun and a sprinkling of rain,
So that new crops could grow, be harvested
And for the cycle to begin once again.
I raised my eyes to what I had now
And christened it,  “the unburdening sky”.
