Antoine et Colette – Francois Truffaut

12 May

This is one of my favourite French films. Maybe it’s because it’s so short and doesn’t allow my attention to waver. Essentially, the film is about a boy who had a difficult childhood and tries to make the best of his adolescence. He finds a job at Phillips, making vinyl records, which he loves because of his passion for music. He goes out one night, with a friend, to a musical performance when his eyes start to wander and become transfixed on the girl of his dreams. He chases and chases her and tries to be the gentleman he thinks she needs but she’s always going to break his heart.
